What this covers
Each board belongs to a limited edition of twenty-five and is made after you order it. That shapes the policy below.
If your board arrives damaged
If your board arrives damaged, we replace it or refund it in full — your choice.
Write to info@babelchess.com within 7 days of delivery and include photographs of the damage and of the packaging. Please keep the box: the carrier may need to see it.
We may ask you to send the damaged board back before replacing or refunding it. In that case, we pay the shipping.
If we made a mistake
If we sent the wrong board, or your personalization was not made as you ordered it, that is our error and we cover it completely: replacement or full refund, and we pay the return shipping.
Personalized boards
Personalized boards cannot be returned or exchanged for a change of mind. Your initials, your name or your own line are printed into the board itself, and the board cannot be sold to anyone else.
Before you confirm your order you are shown exactly what you asked for, with the option to edit it. Please read that screen carefully. If you find a mistake afterwards, you have 24 hours from your confirmation email to write to us at info@babelchess.com and correct it. After that, we cannot undo it.
This does not apply to damage or to our own errors, which are always covered.
Boards without personalization
If your board has no personalization, you may return it within 14 days of delivery for a refund, as long as it comes back unused and in its original box. Return shipping is paid by the customer, and we refund the price of the board once it arrives and we have checked it.
Cancelling an order
Within 24 hours of confirmation, you can cancel your order and receive a full refund. If you want to change it within that time — for example, to add personalization — just reply to your order confirmation email. If the change affects the price, we charge or refund the difference. After 24 hours, the order is final.
How refunds are made
Refunds are issued through our payment provider, to the same method used for the original payment. They usually appear within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank.
